Private by design
CSV Viewer runs entirely in your browser. Your data is parsed and converted on your device with JavaScript — it is never sent to a server, logged or used for analytics. Recent inputs are kept in your browser’s own storage so you can come back to them, and they disappear when you clear cookies and site data (or press Clear history). You can verify this in your browser’s network tab.
Frequently asked questions
Can it open Excel files?
Yes — drop an .xlsx file and each sheet can be viewed as a table. Dates are recognised and shown in ISO format. Legacy .xls files should be saved as .xlsx or CSV first.
How big a file can it open?
Files of tens of megabytes work well. Rows are drawn on demand as you scroll, so the table stays responsive. Very large inputs are kept out of the text box so your tab does not freeze.
Is the file uploaded?
No. Files are read and parsed by your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
Can I convert the CSV to Excel?
Yes. Open the CSV, filter or sort if you like, and press Excel to download a real .xlsx with a styled, frozen header row.
