Privacy Policy: your data never leaves your browser

Json Works is a set of static web pages. There is no server that receives your JSON, CSV, tokens or commands — pasting, parsing, converting and exporting all happen in JavaScript on your device.

What is stored, and where

  • History — the inputs you paste or open, so you can return to them. Stored in your browser’s IndexedDB for jsonworks.dev. Up to 30 entries per tool, each up to 20 MB.
  • Preferences — theme, table options (fit, export settings), panel width and your last JSONPath, kept in localStorage.

Nothing is synced between devices and nothing is readable by us.

How to delete it

  • Open History in any tool and use Clear, or use Clear all saved history in the footer.
  • Clear cookies and site data for jsonworks.dev in your browser settings. History is removed with it.
  • Private / incognito windows discard everything when closed.

What we do not do

  • No accounts or sign-ups.
  • No uploads. Your JSON, CSV, tokens and commands are processed locally and never sent to our servers. You can verify this in your browser's network tab.
  • No third-party requests from the tools themselves. Fonts are served from this site.

Advertising and cookies

The site may display ads served by Google AdSense and other third-party vendors. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. Ad vendors never receive the content you paste into a tool.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), or by visiting aboutads.info. See also the Cookie Policy.

Analytics

We may collect aggregate, anonymous usage statistics (such as page views, country and browser type) through a standard analytics service to understand which tools are useful. Analytics never include the data you paste into a tool.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy; the date below shows the latest revision. Last updated: October 2026.

Be careful with secrets

History is stored unencrypted on your device. If you paste tokens, API keys or customer data on a shared computer, clear the history afterwards. Signing secrets entered in the JWT tool are never saved.
